Trickster 3.2
Apparent Software's Trickster is a utility for quickly accessing recently used documents. Trickster supports Drag and Drop, which means you can move files by dragging and dropping.
In addition, there is a built-in filter that allows you to display a specific type of file - audio files, video files, text documents, images, etc. It is possible to filter by alphabet, frequency of use and by name. Moreover, you can create your own filter based on your preferences. In addition, you can track only certain files without showing all the others, and the optional Favorites menu provides quick access to the most frequently used folders.
Although OS X has built-in good search and filtering mechanisms that allow you to find any file anywhere under the numerous search conditions, if you have the desire and skill, in addition to them there are many various utilities for quick launch, quick access and quick search. This genre can also be attributed to Trickster - a program that allows you to conveniently organize work with recently opened documents, files and programs.
The application is embodied in the form of an icon with a magician's hat, which will be in your menu bar. In the main workspace, we will constantly see any folders, files and programs that were opened or created by the very latest on this computer.
By clicking on any file in Trickster with the right mouse button, you can see the menu with operations. For example, you can exclude all items in the list with the same extension, name, or located in the same folder. The commands “show in Finder”, “copy to clipboard” and “delete” are also very appropriate here.
If recent data requires something specific, for example, only applications, then on the left there are a number of filter icons, according to which parameters they will be selected files of the desired type.
You can expand the list of filters yourself, by choosing one of the many icons and inventing a filter name.
You can set selection rules by file type, including or excluding folders from the search field, or using words in the name or extension.
